For decades, we've been told that mental illness is simply a "chemical imbalance" — something to be managed primarily through medication. But what if that understanding is incomplete?

Sometimes, despite years of medical training, we come to understand that much of what we are taught and conditioned to believe isn't true. Because it isn't based on reality, the outcomes are treatment failures, chronic illness, and catastrophic losses. 

This episode is about what I've learned to be true about mental illness in my search to set patients free from the psychiatric system. It's about how my personal and clinical healing experiences shaped me, realigned my priorities, and shifted my paradigms.
